What Serum To Use With Jade Roller

The Jade Roller has always been a staple in my skincare routine and I feel like my entire skincare routine is organized around it, not the other way around. So lately, I've been buying products with one question in mind: What can I use the Jade roller for? If you're a fellow facial roller, then you know the struggle of your roller not gliding smoothly on your skin.

I try to use my Jade roller to disperse every product in my routine. But that's practically impossible. It's supposed to be a calming and relaxing experience, but it makes me a little anxious because I know I can't use it with a toner!

And frankly, I don't mind seeing products with the Emerald Friendly label next to Vegan Friendly! Some products simply do not improve your facial rolling experience.

Even though I've heard this many times, I still keep trying. You know, just to be sure. And yes, I agree. Certain skin care products work great with jade rollers, while others are not suitable for use with facial tools.

Let me speed you up. Facial creams and moisturizers absorb easily and are not the best choice. The best products to use with the Jade Roller are facial oils and certain types of serums.

In order for your Jade Roller to glide smoothly on the skin, your oil or serum needs to stay on the skin slightly longer than your moisturizer. You need that slippery feeling so that you can massage your face. Otherwise, it feels like you're drying out your skin with crystals.

But here's the thing. You can't purposely go out and buy an oil that doesn't even suit your skin type just to roll jade around with it. Because this isn't just about massaging your skin. It also has to do with what you massage it with.

The products that go with the Jade roller also need to help you. For this reason, I have put together the best skin care products to use with the Jade Roller depending on your needs. But first, here's what to look for!

How to choose products to use with the Jade Roller

Keep these two things in mind: texture and ingredients.

Products used with the Jade Roller need to be rich in emollients and sealants. This translates into oils and substances that have a smooth (emollient) feel. Serums are usually water-based. They disappear into the skin and do not work well with Jade Rollers. But you will find some good options below.

Beware of certain oils that contain active ingredients such as retinol. When you use retinol oil with a Jade roller, you are essentially moving the product over your entire face. For people with sensitive skin, this can be a problem. You can't risk having retinol near the eye area. That's why texture is important, but so are the ingredients.
