Alibaba International Site boasts a 22-year history since its establishment and stands as Alibaba's inaugural website. It has evolved into the world's largest B2B (wholesale) platform, targeting primarily Chinese merchants, with buyers spanning across 200+ overseas countries and regions. The operational model of this international platform mirrors China's 1688, often understood as the "Overseas Version of 1688."
Below are the latest details regarding the entry fees, terms, and processes for Alibaba International Site:
I. Opening a Store on Alibaba International:
Alibaba International Site does not require a security deposit. The costs are mainly divided into three parts:
Entry Fees (i.e., Membership Fees). Membership fees need to be paid annually, and failure to pay will result in contract termination upon expiry. There are two primary membership tiers:
(1) Basic Membership (called "Export Pass") priced at 29,800 RMB per year. Requirements: Only a legal person ID and a business license are needed for processing.
(2) Premium Membership (called "Gold Supplier") priced at 80,000 RMB per year. In addition to the legal person ID and business license, certain strength thresholds must be met.
(3) Differences between Premium and Basic Memberships:
More traffic (more storefronts, priority displays, increased scene traffic)
Higher customer quality (access to million-dollar clubs, high-quality business opportunities directly)
Enhanced benefits (eligible for more International site scene activity zones, third-party certification endorsements, etc.)
Distinctions between the two membership tiers
Advertising Costs and Other Paid Products: This includes Wen Ding, Top Exhibition, Direct Access, etc., with Direct Access being the primary one. Direct Access starts at 10,000 RMB. Merchants can independently manage Direct Access in the background and have the freedom to choose their daily spending. Each Direct Access plan requires a minimum of 50 RMB per day. Direct Access is essentially keyword-click-paid advertising.
Transaction Service Fees. Engaging in online transactions through Alibaba International incurs a Trade Assurance transaction service fee of 1.6% to 2% per transaction (1.6% with Alibaba logistics, otherwise 2%), capped at 100 USD per transaction. Additionally, if Yidatong is used for customs clearance for exports, the Trade Assurance transaction service fee is waived. However, an additional Yidatong basic service fee of 160-480 RMB per order will be charged.
