Why Your Skincare Routine Needs a Jade Roller
What is your favorite part of the face? Steam, cooling serums or facial massage?
For me, it's all of the above! But this modern mom who lives in the country doesn't have time to go to the spa. Besides, I like to keep things simple. Spa creams and potions have nothing to do with simplicity.

The main benefit of jade rolling is to promote the drainage of the lymphatic system's natural detoxification process. Immediate improvement in swelling and puffiness reduction is often noted.
The massage of the facial roller will increase blood circulation - giving your skin a glow while releasing tension in the facial muscles and improving skin elasticity. Over time, you may notice that your cheekbones look more defined.
Jade rolled for instant cooling and calming. Perfect for use at home after steaming your face!
In addition, jade rolling helps to eliminate dark circles and brighten your complexion.
Last but not least, the massaging effect of jade rolling also helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by tightening pores and stimulating facial muscles.
How to use the Jade Roller
Before using the Jade Roller, you will need to prepare your face, making sure it is clean and moisturized. If you are massaging makeup or getting exfoliants from facial scrubs deep into your skin, then all the benefits of jade rolling will be quite lost. Use the skin care checklist below to get your skin ready for jade rolling.
Jade Roller Skin Care Routine.
Always start by cleansing your skin. Use my popular DIY Aloe Cleanser to get a clean start!
Then use a facial toner to remove impurities and use a reusable round cotton cloth to balance the skin's pH (click here to learn how to make one).
Next, apply a firming eye cream under your eyes and under your brow bone, which I made myself and it works like a charm!
Afterwards, apply 3 to 5 drops of your favorite luminous serum before you start jade rolling.
Jade Rolling Technique.
Make the most of amazing lymphatic drainage with these simple jade rolling techniques! The stones easily glide across the skin in any direction. However, to tighten facial muscles and remove fine lines, you need to roll up and out. Follow these step-by-step instructions to successfully use your jade roller.
Neck area.
Starting at your collarbone, use the large jade stone to gently roll upward to your chin. When you reach it stop and move the jade roller to the next part of your neck. (Instead of rolling down.) Repeat until you cover the neck area - from collarbone to collarbone.
Chin and chin area.
Continue using the large jade stone, starting at the bottom of the chin at the jawline. Roll outward and upward toward each earlobe. (Again, do not roll backward, roll downward.) Then move the roller upward on the chin and roll toward the temples and the hairline at the top of the ears.
Above the mouth area.
Flip the jade roller and use a smaller stone in this area. Starting just above the lips below the nose, roll outward and upward again to the temples. In any case, this area can usually be repeated using the most lifts ...... on each side.
Cheek area.
Return the large stone to the large cheek area. Place the stone on the side of the nose, near the bottom, and roll it again to the temples. Can we say contoured cheeks 3x faster? Move the roller up one notch on the side of the nose until it rolls over the entire cheek area, except under the eyes.
Under the eyes.
Now for the under-eye area, my favorite part! Using the small stone here, gently roll from the side of the nose below the eyes (I always wanted to say that), pulling upward to the edge of the brow and the hairline. If your brows are puffy or need to be lifted in the same way, you can roll the area underneath the brow and the eyebrow.
Forehead area.
Switch to a large stone in the forehead area. Start at the center of the forehead directly above the eyebrows and roll outward. Repeat for each side, then move the roller up to just below the hairline and roll outward again.
Add jade rolling to your skincare routine for a week and you'll remember all of these tips. I like to repeat "up and out" to myself as I roll. After the Jade Roll, use a moisturizing cream on areas that tend to dry out.
How often should you use a jade roller?
It is best to incorporate Jade into your nightly skincare routine and make it a habit to create a healthy complexion. If you have the time, you can also sneak it into your morning skincare routine. Most of us love the quick and easy way to refresh our skin in the morning.
You may also find jade rolling useful during allergy season or when you have a cold and your face is puffy.
Can you keep jade rollers in the refrigerator?
Jade is naturally cool even at room temperature. Therefore, it does not need to be stored in the refrigerator. However, if you want a little extra stimulation - put your jade roller in the fridge before you take a long bath. Then pull it out when you're ready to use it in your skincare routine. I'll admit, I tried it and it was really cool!
